Brass Foyboat Door Knocker
‘Foyboats’ were used to assist larger vessels in the north east of England in the 18th and early 19th century.
They acted as informal ferries taking crew and provisions to anchored vessels. In use until the mechanical tug boats evolved.
Engraved with the name FOY, with aged patina.
