Antique Brass Shropshire Coat of Arms Door Knocker.
This is the official Shropshire (previously known as Salop) Coat of Arms granted to the County in 1896. Adorned with 3 Leopard faces often referred to as ‘The Loggerheads’. Originating from the practice of carving a leopards head onto the head of a log used as a battering ram. It is engraved ‘Floreat Salop’ which loosely means, may Shropshire flourish.
